Privacy Policy

Effective: September 10, 2026

1. Overview

EZ Voucher, LLC ("EZ Voucher," "we," "us," or "our") provides a Chrome extension designed to assist authorized attorneys with appointed-counsel voucher entry workflows. This Privacy Policy explains the information used by the EZ Voucher website and extension and the purposes for which it is used.

2. Account and licensing information

When you create or use an EZ Voucher account, we may process information such as your name, email address, authentication information, OIDS attorney code, account status, subscription status, trial status, and related identifiers needed to provide and secure your account.

Passwords are handled through our authentication provider. EZ Voucher does not intentionally display or store your plaintext password.

3. OIDS page access

The extension is designed to operate on the Alabama OIDS website. It checks the active tab's URL locally to determine whether the user is currently viewing OIDS. It does not create a browsing-history record or transmit unrelated URLs or browsing activity to EZ Voucher. When the active tab is an OIDS page, the extension may read information necessary to identify the workflow state, verify the attorney code associated with the active session, identify relevant form controls, reconcile existing timesheet entries, and assist with entry. The extension may also write values into OIDS form fields at the user's direction.

Case information, timesheet entries, and other OIDS page contents read for this workflow are processed locally in the user's browser and are not transmitted to EZ Voucher or its service providers. The attorney code detected in the active OIDS session is transmitted to EZ Voucher's account service solely to verify that it matches the attorney code licensed to the signed-in EZ Voucher account.

EZ Voucher does not receive or provide OIDS login credentials and is not affiliated with the Alabama Office of Indigent Defense Services.

4. Invoices and voucher data

The extension processes invoices and other billing files that you intentionally load for the purpose of preparing the OIDS entry workflow. Raw invoices, billing files, and extracted client or defendant names, case numbers, entry descriptions, dates, hours, rates, and charges are processed locally in the user's browser. They are not uploaded to EZ Voucher, Supabase, Stripe, Resend, or another analytics service.

For the one-voucher trial, the extension creates a SHA-256 fingerprint from the selected file locally and transmits only that fingerprint to EZ Voucher's account service. The fingerprint is used to determine trial eligibility and prevent reuse of the same invoice for another trial; the raw file and its extracted contents are not transmitted with it.

We do not sell voucher information or use it for advertising.

5. Diagnostic information

Automatic diagnostic reporting is off by default. If you choose to enable it, or if you intentionally submit a manual error report, EZ Voucher may receive limited technical information such as a random installation identifier, extension version, browser version, error stage, source-file type, error type, sanitized error message, sanitized stack information, recovery state, and any comment you intentionally provide. Diagnostic sanitization is designed to remove or replace common URLs, email addresses, account identifiers, quoted values, and similar identifiers before transmission. Diagnostic reports are used only to investigate problems, provide support, prevent abuse, and improve product reliability. Please do not include confidential client information, OIDS credentials, or other passwords in a diagnostic report or support request.

6. Subscription and payment information

Subscription payments are processed through Stripe. EZ Voucher may store Stripe customer, subscription, price, and subscription-status identifiers needed to provide paid access. Payment-card details are handled by Stripe rather than by the Chrome extension itself. Stripe's own privacy terms govern information processed directly by Stripe.

7. Local browser storage

The extension uses Chrome local storage for information necessary to operate the extension. This may include authentication session data, attorney-approved mapping rules, tutorial and user preferences, diagnostic settings, entry-run recovery information, and locally cached OIDS case and timesheet information used for reconciliation. This local information may include case numbers, names, billing descriptions, and time-entry details. It is not synchronized through Chrome Sync or uploaded to EZ Voucher. It remains in the user's Chrome profile until it is cleared, replaced, or the extension is removed.

8. How we use information

  • Provide authentication, account access, trial eligibility, and subscription access.
  • Verify that the EZ Voucher account corresponds with the attorney code detected in the active OIDS session.
  • Provide the voucher-entry functionality requested by the user.
  • Maintain security, prevent abuse, diagnose failures, and improve reliability.
  • Provide customer support and comply with applicable legal obligations.

9. Service providers

EZ Voucher relies on service providers to operate the service. These providers include Supabase for authentication and backend account services, Stripe for subscription billing, and Resend for transactional email delivery. Website hosting and network providers may also process ordinary connection and security information, such as IP address, browser type, request time, and requested page. These providers process information for EZ Voucher only as needed to provide, secure, and maintain their respective services, subject to their own terms and privacy practices.

10. Data sharing and sale

EZ Voucher does not sell personal information, voucher information, or billing data. We do not use user data for targeted advertising, creditworthiness, or lending purposes. We may disclose information to service providers acting on our behalf, when required by law, or when reasonably necessary to protect the rights, security, and integrity of EZ Voucher and its users.

The use of information received from Chrome APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

11. Data retention

We retain account, licensing, and subscription records while an account or subscription is active and afterward for only as long as reasonably necessary to maintain business and security records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and meet legal obligations. Diagnostic and security information is retained only as long as reasonably necessary to investigate reported problems, prevent abuse, and improve service reliability. Information stored locally by the extension may remain in Chrome storage until it is cleared, replaced, or the extension is removed.

Because payment records are maintained by Stripe and certain records may be subject to legal, tax, fraud-prevention, or security requirements, deleting an EZ Voucher account may not result in immediate deletion of every related record.

12. Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards designed to protect information. No system can guarantee absolute security. Users are responsible for maintaining the security of their Google Chrome environment, OIDS credentials, and EZ Voucher account credentials.

13. Your choices

You may sign out of the extension, remove the extension, manage your subscription, and control diagnostic reporting where the product provides that setting. You may contact support@ez-voucher.com to request access to, correction of, or deletion of account information. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, and we may retain information when required or permitted for legal, billing, fraud-prevention, or security purposes.

14. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy as the product changes. The effective date above will be updated when a revised policy is posted.
